RAF Cranwell Summer Camp

During the summer holidays, I was lucky enough to be given the opportunity to spend a week at RAF College Cranwell along with many cadets from around Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wing. Some of my favorite moments over the course of the week included the trip to the RAF Museum at RAF Cosford, the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight museum at RAF Coningsby where we got to see an Avro Lancaster Bomber, and a trip to Cosford National Arboretum. This was a very moving experience for me where I had the chance to reflect on those that have fallen.

There were also opportunities to fly in the Grob Tutor, King Air and Viking Glider. We even had the honor of meeting and getting a camp photo with Air Commodore Dawn McCafferty, Commandant Air Cadets!!

Families day for the personnel at RAF Cranwell fell in the middle of camp and in return for helping we were able to look around and see the airshow – my favorite aircraft was the Typhoons which never cease to amaze me! It was a fantastic week full of amazing opportunities and I made some great friends over the seven days! I would definitely recommend this camp!
